The High Court has appointed a provisional liquidator to Hughes Farming Limited, the Kilkenny company that specialises in growing carrots, parsnips, daffodils and onions.
Run by Julian Hughes, the farm is comprised of 700ac and is one of the largest vegetable growers in the south east.
Resolute Advisory has been appointed as provisional liquidator after Hughes told the court on Monday that the business faced a number of urgent challenges.

Wage costs and input cost inflation were cited as two of the reasons that the company was unable to continue in business, along with projected losses for the 2026 year.
Hughes Farming Limited owes €1.4m to creditors and close to €690,000 to Revenue.
