Dr Brendan Horan is joining the Irish Farmers Journal editorial team and will take up the role of dairy editor in July.
Brendan is a stalwart of the Teagasc Moorepark dairy research team, with over 20 years’ experience in systems research across Curtins Farm in Cork and Ballyhaise in Co Cavan.
During his time at Teagasc he has led research projects on dairy genetics, stocking rates and grassland management, including spearheading research on multispecies swards and clover at Moorepark. From a farming background in Tipperary, he holds an MBA from UCC and joins the Irish Farmers Journal at an exciting time as it rolls out a new digital strategy. Brendan will work alongside Daire Cregg and Aidan Brennan as the Irish Farmers Journal expands its dairy coverage.
