Irish dairy farmers supplied 35m litres more to Irish processors in October 2025 when compared with October 2024, representing an increase of 5.2%.
This is according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
It is estimated that dairy farmers supplied a total of 708m litres in October 2025 - a figure which is up 119.3m litres (+20.3%) on the same month in 2023.
For the first 10 months of 2025, milk volumes were estimated at 8.08bn litres, an increase of 432.9 million litres (+5.7%) when compared with the same period in 2024.
The volume of milk supplied by Irish farmers for these 10 months was also up 210.0m litres (+2.7%) when compared with 2023.

Meanwhile, volumes supplied to milk processors and co-ops were estimated at 708m litres in October 2025, an increase of 34.9m litres when compared with October 2024. This represents a percentage rise of 5.2%.
However, milk solids weren't as satisfactory for October 2025, according to the CSO.
Fat content for October 2025 was 4.87%, down from 4.93% in October 2024. Protein content also dropped from 4.04% to 4.00% in the 12 months to October 2025.
Butter production decreased from 24,300t in October 2024 to 19,300t in October 2025, down 5,000t.
