Met Éireann has issued weather warnings for a number of counties across Ireland.

There has been a status orange rain warning issued for Dublin, Louth, Meath and Wicklow. The warning is in place until 2pm on Monday 21 July.

Met Éireann has said that there will be persistent and heavy rain with a chance of thunderstorms. It may cause widespread flooding, difficult travelling conditions and very poor visibility.

There has also been a status yellow rain warning issued for counties Kildare and Monaghan. There will be spells of heavy rain with a chance of isolated thunderstorms, according to Met Éireann.

The yellow warning remains in place until 2pm on Monday 21 July.

With a high volume of rain falling across the weekend and into Monday, some areas of the country, particularly around the border, have experienced flash flooding.
