Ploughing 2027 will take place a week later than usual due to the Ryder Cup taking place in Ireland, the National Ploughing Association (NPA) has confirmed.
The Ryder Cup will take place in Adare Manor, Co Limerick, from 13 to 19 September next year.
Usually held in the third week of September, Ireland’s largest outdoor event, the National Ploughing Championships, will instead take place in the fourth week of the month from 21 to 23 September.
NPA assistant managing director Anna Marie McHugh told the Irish Farmers Journal that the NPA considered going a week earlier than usual with Ploughing 2027 to avoid the clash with the Ryder Cup. However, it was agreed that instead it will take place the week after the international golf event.
The venue for Ploughing 2027 has yet to be confirmed.
Ploughing 2026 will take place as usual this year on 15 to 17 September where it will return to Screggan, Tullamore, Co Offaly for a second consecutive year.
