Prices rise by 0.9% at Global Dairy Trade

Skim milk powder prices increased, while whole milk powder prices dropped slightly.

A total of 46,146t of dairy goods were traded at Tuesday's auction.

Dairy prices increased by 0.9% at Tuesday’s Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction in New Zealand to an average of €3,372/t.

The GDT index was up 2.3% at the previous auction held two weeks ago.

Skim milk powder prices were up 5.3% to an average of €3,187/t, while butter milk powder prices increased by 4.6% to average €3,567/t.

Increases in prices were also seen for lactose and mozzarella.

Whole milk powder

Whole milk powder prices fell marginally by 0.1% to average €3,092/t and anhydrous milk fat prices were down by 1.3% to average €5,103/t.

Butter prices decreased by 0.8% to average €4,336/t, while cheddar prices dropped by 6.6% to an average of €3,021/t.

This marks a fourth consecutive rise in prices at the auction.
