For feed wheat and barley, which make up the bulk of the volumes, prices are up at least €5/t on last year. Those listed below which purchase more than 700,000t or one-third of the national grain harvest from Irish farmers annually paid on average €140/t for feed barley and €150/t for feed wheat. The highest prices paid were from Cork-based McDonnell brothers at €143/t for feed barley and €153/t for feed wheat.

Midlands-based John Grennan and Sons paid €142/t for feed barley and €152/t for feed wheat.

All other merchants listed below paid a base price of €140/t for feed barley and €8-€10/t on top for feed wheat.

Last month, Glanbia Ireland announced it paid a base price of €133/t for feed barley with a co-op support of €14/t for members. Dairygold co-op paid €140/t for feed barley and a support of €5/t for members. All prices are exclusive of VAT and at 20% moisture.
