Kilmuckridge Macra put a lively stamp on the festive season this year as more than 60 vehicles hit the roads for the club’s St Stephen’s Day Tractor Run.

There was something for everyone on display, from modern tractors to beautifully kept vintage models, with a few lorries adding extra colour.

The 30km route brought plenty of noise, lights and excitement to the parish, and locals turned out along the way to wave the convoy on, creating that unmistakable Christmas buzz that only a rural tractor run can bring.

The event raised over €1,000 for Wexford Marine Watch, whose volunteers provide vital lifesaving patrols along Wexford’s quays and shoreline. Supporting a charity rooted in local community work made the fundraising feel all the more meaningful.

A formal cheque presentation is planned for the coming weeks, giving members and supporters another opportunity to gather and celebrate the generosity shown.

Fitting finale

The tractor run was a fitting finale to what has been a busy and social year for the club. Weekly pool nights in Oulart proved a great hit, giving members the perfect chance to unwind midweek, enjoy a bit of craic and spark a few competitive streaks.

The club also hosted a brilliant annual hooley, turned out in force for regional nights, and proudly backed members who stepped up to compete at county and national level. It’s been a year full of activity, connection and club spirit – everything Macra is known for.

Looking ahead

With 2026 now underway, Kilmuckridge Macra is already gearing up for another packed year.

Plans are forming for more social events, training opportunities and development nights, along with a few trips around the country to attend the myriad of competitions, festivals and events that Macra has to offer.

For young people aged 17–35 in rural Ireland, Macra continues to be a fantastic way to meet people, try something new and feel part of a community.
