Rockwell Farm is “under consideration” as a potential purchase by Maurice Regan, according to a spokesperson for the US-based construction billionaire.

The 813ac Tipperary farm comes to the market with an extensive dairy farmyard including a 60-unit DeLaval rotary milking parlour and capacity to carry 600 cows.

A spokesperson for Regan told the Irish Farmers Journal: “Rockwell Farm is under consideration as a potential purchase.

“However we can categorically state that Maurice will not bid against any dairy farmer who is a potential buyer, and would be willing to look at ways of potentially assisting any dairy farmer or farmers interested in purchasing the property.”

The founder and CEO of New York-based company JT Magen already owns at least 1,200ac in south Tipperary. He keeps thoroughbred bloodstock and beef cattle at his Newtown Anner Stud and has other land in tillage and grass near Clonmel.

Regan is poised to buy Barne Estate Clonmel from the Thomson-Moore family trust following the summer’s high-profile court case involving the Magnier family of Coolmore.

In December 2023, Regan agreed to pay €22.25m for the trophy estate.

However, there is still an opportunity for the Magnier family to appeal the High Court’s ruling that an earlier €15m handshake deal between John Magnier and Richard Thomson-Moore for the landmark 751ac tillage farm was not binding.

Rockwell Farm is being offered for sale in two lots of 270ac and 543ac, as well as in its entirety. The farm has a guide price of €21m.
