A status orange rainfall warning will come into effect in counties Dublin, Wexford and Wicklow at 2pm on Friday.

Met Éireann has forecast “significant rainfall accumulations” for the three counties, especially on higher ground.

It said that significant flooding is possible and that travelling conditions will be hazardous.

Yellow warning

A status yellow rainfall warning is in place for Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford from 24 hours from 9am on Friday. Heavy and persistent rain is forecast in these counties, leading to flooding and difficult travelling conditions.

The same warning is in place for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Louth, Meath, Wexford and Wicklow from 11am on Friday, until 11am on Saturday.

Wind warning

Meanwhile, a status yellow wind warning will come into effect in four counties at 12pm on Friday.

Counties Dublin, Louth, Wexford and Wicklow are all impacted by the warning, which expires at 4am on Saturday morning.
