Met Éireann has issued a status red wind warning for Co Donegal from 4pm until 6pm on Friday 3 October.
Extremely strong and gusty southwest winds are forecast for Donegal on Friday afternoon, while Clare, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo are under an orange wind warning, with near-gale force to gale force southwest to west winds.

The risk of power outages, dangerous travelling conditions and structural damage is strong as storm Amy hits the country.
Meanwhile, as the wind picks up across the country on Friday afternoon, rainfall is expected to ease.
