Met Éireann has warned that temperatures will drop to between -1°C and -3°C nationwide on Friday night.

It has issued a status yellow low temperatures/ice warning with sharp frost and icy conditions set to grip the country.

Met Éireann has said that potential impacts include hazardous travel conditions on road and underfoot, plus travel disruption.

The warning comes into effect at 9pm on Friday night and expires at 10am on Saturday.

The outlook for the rest of the weekend is for it to turn unsettled again. For next week, it looks set to continue rather cold with some frosty nights, but with showers or longer spells of rain at times too.
