A block of north Co Dublin tillage land has sold at auction for almost €25,000/ac.
The 36ac is located near to the Dublin and Meath border in an area of very productive farming.
It’s 3.5km from Oldtown and 8km from the fast-expanding town of Ashbourne.
The bidding opened in the room at €700,000 and, with two active bidders, the figure rose to €850,000.
At that point, the property was declared on the market.

The 36ac is in one block.
New bidders then became involved and the land was knocked down to a local business person at €890,000. The guide price had been €18,000/ac to €20,000/ac.
The 36ac is in one division and was offered only in the entire. The lands are well maintained, with quality free-draining soils.
“The land got great interest during the campaign,” auctioneer Philip Byrne said afterwards. “We wish the purchasers the best with their purchase.”
