Friday

Met Éireann has forecast that Friday will be cool by day and cold by night, with frost, ice and freezing fog.

There will be some bright or sunny spells, but also scattered heavy showers, mainly for southern and eastern areas.

There is a chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms, which could extend northeastwards through the day.

Highest daytime temperatures will be 5°C to 9°C or 10°C in a light to moderate southeasterly or variable breeze.

Lowest overnight temperatures will be -2°C to 3°C, coldest away from eastern fringes.

Saturday

It is set to be dry across most areas on Saturday. Overnight fog will linger in places, with generally cloudy skies for the day.

Met Éireann has said isolated showers or light rain and drizzle will affect southern and eastern fringes.

It will be a cool day, with highest daytime temperatures of just 4°C to 8°C in light southeast or variable breezes.

Saturday night will be similar to that of Friday, with stubborn areas of fog, as well as frost where skies clear. Lowest temperatures overnight will be -2°C to 3°C in near calm winds.

Sunday

Overnight mist and fog will once again linger in places for the day.

Overall, Met Éireann has said it will be dry for daylight hours, with the best of the sunny spells for eastern counties. Rain will push into western counties later in the evening.

Highest daytime temperatures will be 6°C to 9°C in just light to moderate southeasterly winds.

Sunday night will be mostly frost-free, but with bands of showers moving in from the Atlantic, especially affecting the western half of the country.

Lowest nighttime temperatures will be 2°C to 6°C in mostly moderate southeast winds.
