Met Éireann has forecast the day staying overcast and misty, with widespread showers in the southwest but mostly scattered rains elsewhere.

Drier spells will emerge into the evening after rains spread eastwards, as highest temperatures are expected to reach 11°C to 14°C.

Further rain is anticipated overnight, which may turn heavy in places, as temperatures drop to between 5°C and 11°C.

Saturday

Saturday is shaping up to be a day of mixed weather conditions, according to the forecast.

The northern half of the country is to see sunny spells and scattered showers, while heavier rains are expected in the south, with highest temperatures of 11°C to 14°C.

Met Éireann does not expect lowest temperatures to drop below 8°C overnight.

Sunday

Sunday is shaping up to be another largely wet day, although once persistent bands of rain move northeastwards, there should be sunnier spells.

Highest temperatures of 12°C to 14°C are expected.
