A yellow wind warning has been issued for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, which is set to come into effect at 12pm on Friday running until 9pm, according to Met Éireann.

The rain and wind will continue on Friday night, with heavy rain possible and gales on western, northern and eastern coasts. Met Éireann said: “The rain will clear eastwards overnight and will be followed by scattered showers of rain or sleet and some clear spells and winds will ease too.”

Temperature will reach lows of 1°C to 5°C, with strong south to southwest winds, which will ease as the night goes on.

Saturday

Saturday is set to be another windy day, with fresh to strong and gusty south to southwest winds and gales on coasts, according to Met Éireann.

The morning will be bright and crisp in the east. However, scattered blustery showers will spread in across the country from the west, some turning heavy.

There will also be a chance of hail and thunder. Temperatures will reach highs of 7°C to 11°C.

Saturday night will be “blustery with scattered showers and clear spells and lowest temperatures of 4°C to 7°C, with fresh and gusty south to southwest winds,” Met Éireann said.

It will be a breezy and blustery day on Sunday, with some sunshine and scattered showers. Some showers may turn heavy, with a chance of hail.

Temperatures will see highs of 9°C to 12°C, with moderate to fresh gusty southwest to west breezes.

“Winds will ease on Sunday night and showers will clear from most areas,” Met Éireann forecast.

Temperatures will range from low of 0°C to 4°C, with light to moderate south to southwest winds.

Met Éireann has forecast next week to be changeable, with showers and windy conditions at times. Monday is set to begin dry, with showers moving in from the west during the day and clearing in the evening.
