The Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine has released interim nitrogen and phosphorus statements for the period from January to 30 August 2020.
The statements can be accessed online through the Department’s www.agfood.ie facility.
A Department spokesperson said: “These statements are particularly useful to allow farmers to plan for the remainder of the year, in order to ensure compliance with the limits of the nitrates regulations, thus avoiding penalties for breaching the limits of 170kg of nitrogen per hectare or the limit for those who hold an approved derogation the limit is 250kg of nitrogen per hectare.”
The Department reminds farmers who are not already registered for www.agfood.ie that they can do so by logging on and clicking the 'register' button.
