Carbery has announced that it will be holding its milk price for October.

Suppliers will receive 32.8c/l excluding VAT.

Carbery is the fifth supplier so far to say that they’ll be holding the milk price, with only Aurivo dropping the price for October by 1c/l.

The west Cork co-ops traditionally pay out one of the strongest milk prices in the country.

Meanwhile, Arrabawn also announced it would be holding its milk price for October. Suppliers will receive a base price of 30.6c/l, excluding VAT.

Although many farmers will be relieved to hear the news that overall the milk prices have held, many suppliers sounded a note of caution in relation to future milk prices over the winter period.
