I see broadcaster Pat Kenny has found a vocation in badger conservation when he’s not on radio with Newstalk or on the small screen with Virgin Media.

The 73-year-old has campaigned on behalf of a badger family in Dalkey which just so happens to live on the site of a planned nursing home adjacent to the Kenny home, which the former RTÉ host has publicly objected to.

Consultant ecologist, Billy Flynn has told Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council that the construction of the 104-bedroom nursing home “would almost certainly lead to the local extinction” of the badgers at the site.

Turns out, badger relocation is an issue for residents inside the Pale too.
