Sugar beet farmers were told this week that a European Court ruling means they are set to receive back-payments from 1999 to 2001.

Greencore and sugar beet farmers are to be reimbursed at a “rate yet to be determined”, according to Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed.

But hold the holiday to the Caribbean – The Dealer’s contacts have informed him that they could be worth as little as €50 each.
