As numbers are small, shipper activity is negligible, with farmers the main buyers so far.

In terms of prices, January always sees a very strong trade, and, so far, the average Friesian bull calf is selling from €90 to €120/head. This is on par with the price paid the same time last year.

In terms of Angus and Hereford calves, the numbers on offer are still very small, but the trade is showing signs of strong demand so far. The average Angus bull sold for €237 last week, while the average heifer made €217. Herefords sold from €240 to €340/head.
