The UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science is hosting an online information evening on 13 April at 1pm to show the range of opportunities available within the realm of agrilcultural extension.

Agricultural extension is the application of scientific research and innovation to improve agricultural practice through farmer education. Those working within this area are often advisers, consultants or work in an educational capacity.

The agricultural extension programmes within UCD equip graduates with the skills and knowledge to become effective at supporting farmers in developing their farm business and are especially suitable to anyone considering a career in these areas. There are full-time, part-time and distance learning options available at MSc, Diploma and Certificate level.

UCD is collaborating with Teagasc and Macra Agricultural Skillnet to offer a number of funded and partially funded opportunities for applicants, which are now open for 2022 entry.

The online event will include an overview of the programmes and the application process. It will also include a panel discussion with recent graduates and current students, who will speak on their experience of the programmes and career opportunities.
