Some 3,939 advance Green Low-carbon Agri-environment Scheme (GLAS) payments have yet to issue to farmers, 2,000 or which remain ineligible for payment, the Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed, has said.

The figures were revealed in a parliamentary question to the Minister from Fianna Fáil’s spokesperson on agriculture, Charlie McConalogue.

Of the 3,939 farmers yet to be paid, the figures show that 1,897 are in GLAS 1, 1,093 are in GLAS 2 and 949 are in GLAS 3.

Minister Creed said that payment has issued to all cases cleared for payment and weekly updates are published on his Department's website.

“It should be noted that there are still approximately 2,000 scheme participants who remain ineligible for a payment due to a failure on their part to comply with the scheme,” he said and are classified as not having their advance payment made.
