The 60th anniversary party continues for the IFA and on Friday night it was the turn of north Tipperary to celebrate. Over 400 people packed the Scouts Hall in Nenagh and were treated to a meal that included a couple of pigs on a spit sourced entirely from a local produce. The Dealer was very impressed with the food service provided by the transition year class from St Mary’s Convent under the watchful eye of the Farm Family Committee.

Former general secretary and north Tipp man Michael Berkery was there with his wife, Mai, as was Michael Treacy and his wife, Mary. But it was 92-year-old Liam Whyte from Aglish who grabbed everyone’s attention as he described what it was like to be in the Four Provinces Ballroom on the day the NFA was founded.
