Sixty acres near Ballycarney, Wexford sold to three different buyers recently.

Part of a 65-acre residential farm that was originally up for sale last summer, the vendors decided against selling the house and five acres.

They opted instead to sell the remaining 60 acres. That acreage was sold in two lots, but to three different buyers.

Of the total, 41 acres were bought by two local farmers, while the remaining 19 acres was sold to a different farmer from the locality.

As part of a private treaty sale, the final price was not disclosed, but it was suggested that the 41 acres made well over €13,000/ac, while the smaller 19-acre lot sold for in the region of €11,000/ac.

This sale was ongoing since the summer, and closed before Christmas. David Quinn, of Quinn Property handled this sale.

The farm

When Irish Country Living visited the grounds last summer, it was clear that this was some of the best tillage ground in north Wexford.

Located in the shelter of Sliabh Buí Mountain, the rolling countryside surrounding the lands offered spectacular views.

It is situated circa 1km from the N80, along the main Bunclody to Enniscorthy road, and is roughly halfway between both towns.

The parcel was guided for €12,000/ac when it first hit the market.
