Feed importer and trader ADM Arkady Ireland reported an 11.5% fall in operating profits for the year ending 31 December 2016.

It reported an operating profit from continuing operations of €2.6m in the period. Sales decreased 1.5% to €183.9m. Operating profit margins were 1.4%. The company made a pre-tax profit of €2.3m.

The Irish business is owned by global grain and food processing giant ADM. It has a daily global processing capacity of more than 300,000t through its 253 facilities.

Headquartered in Chicago, ADM had group sales of $62bn last year.

It began operations in Ireland in 1981 and trades ingredients for food and animal feed from sites in Dublin and Cork. It has net assets of €12m and employs 15 people locally.
