Nestled in north Cork, the sale of this beautiful 63-acre residential property nears a close. With more and more interest sparked in the previous number of weeks, the holding, which came to the market in early summer, seems to be on the home straight.

Located in Carrigacleena, Bweeg, Co Cork, this holding resides in dairy country. Traditionally a dairy farm some years ago, the farm was converted to a beef enterprise in recent decades.

The lands

The lands themselves are of high quality. Divided into 10 paddocks, the holding is well maintained. The ground itself is very fertile and has a long growing season, with the exception of five acres of marginal ground. Well fenced and supplied with mains water, the property is offered in numerous lots, with the vendors being flexible with the way the parcels are being offered.

The lots

Originally, the property was offered in three lots including the entire. The entire includes two residences, a farmyard and the 63 acres of good ground.

Lot number two consists of 28 acres, all of which is regarded as top-quality land. The third lot is circa 35 acres of good ground with the exception of five acres of marginal land.

As mentioned, however, the vendors have stressed flexibility when it comes to the sale, with the residences offered separately if needs be. The guide prices for each parts of the land are as follows:

  • • Main residence on 0.66 of an acre - €475,000
  • • Second residence on 0.5 of an acre - €275,000
  • • Farm buildings - €75,000
  • • The lands - €10,000/acre
  • The residence

There are two residences located on the farmyard. The primary residence is an extremely attractive five-bed dormer house located close to the main farmyard.

Three bedrooms are en suite and the house also contains a kitchen come dining room, sunroom and sitting room. This residence, which was built in 2006, is approximately 2,800 sq ft. Inside, it is very spacious and practical, with a superb four-door AGA gracing the kitchen.

The gardens to the front of the house are beautifully laid out, with a tarmac driveway leading to the home. There are also electric gates at the front of the residence for security.

The second residence is a detached four-bed house on half an acre. This bungalow, which is the former primary residence of the current owner, contains a sunroom, garage, office and a garden shed.

This vendors are hoping for €275,000 for this property. This home has been rented out for the last number of years and is in very good condition.

    The farmyard

Also offered is the farmyard. Priced at €75,000, the holding contains four separate units. These include three 45 x 35 lean-to sheds capable of holding up to 80 weanlings. Also contained is one 45 x 30 walled silage pit.

The holdings here are spacious and are in need of some TLC but, overall, are in good working condition.

    The sale

The sale is amicable, with the lands being sold by a retiring couple. The vendors confirmed to Irish Country Living that offers have been placed on the property and that things have moved along nicely in the last number of weeks.
