Fifty-five acres of renowned quality with a farmhouse have recently come up for grabs in the heart of Co Cork. Located in Gurtacrue, about circa 10 minutes Midleton and circa 30 minutes from Cork, the farm has generated significant interest from numerous parties already.

The lands themselves are of high quality. Free draining and the soil is very fertile. Currently laid out in grass, the land was formally a tillage and beef enterprise. The land was used for silage last summer. The farm is laid out in one block, with 14 paddocks on the holding. The property is well fenced and is supplied by a private well.

There are also extensive hedgerows which provide an adequate shelter belt for animals. In total, there is €9,500 of Single Farm Payment on the land. While the property is being offered in lots, if it is sold in the entire the SFP will be fully obtained by the purchaser.

The farmhouse

The farmhouse itself is a two-storey building erected circa 80 years ago. Containing three bedrooms, it is situated at the end of a public road, offering privacy and security. The residence contains a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom.

The property has been well maintained and is in good condition, according to the auctioneer, even though it has been vacant for a while. Given the location and space, there is potential to expand.

The farm buildings

The farm buildings comprise of two haybarns and three lean-tos. These buildings were constructed around 1970s. Currently, there is no slatted facility for wintering cattle.

There is a good water supply to the sheds, as well as electricity. As with the lands, water is supplied by a private well to the farm buildings and the house.
