A 51-acre residential farm, situated in Ballymachugh, Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, will be offered for sale at an auction next week. The farm is in one block, laid out in six divisions and currently in grass, but in need of some work as it has been rented for the past number of years.
“The land is in need of remedial work more so than heavy work,” says selling agent Denis O’Roarke of O’Roarke Bros Auctioneers, Moate.
“When you look at the neighbouring lands and see the good grassland fields, you see the potential of the ground.”
The farm has plenty of road frontage, as well as access to a small river behind the farm. The roadside two-storey farmhouse dates from the 1800s and comprises three bedrooms, a kitchen, sitting room and a reception room. The farm will be offered for sale by public auction through O’Roarke Bros Auctioneers on Wednesday, 17 September, at 3pm, in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore. The farm is guided at €450,000.
O’Roarke Bros are also handling the sale of a substantial 117-acre residential farm in Ballinlig Lower, Moate, Co Westmeath.
The farm is laid out in one block and is all in grass, with 750 metres of road frontage. The farmyard consists of a three-bay hay shed with a lean-to and a cattle crush. The farmhouse is an old-style, two-storey building in need of renovation.
The farm will be offered for sale by public auction on Friday, 26 September, at 3pm, in the Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar. The farm is guided at €550,000 (€4,700/acre) and there are no entitlements with either farm.
