A modern poultry farm on c70ac is for sale near Killucan, Co Westmeath with a guide price of €1.7 million. The holding is at Mylestown and will be offered at auction by Raymond Potterton Auctioneers.

The farm is located 2km from Killucan, 7km from Kinnegad and 16km from Mullingar. It also has easy access to the M4 and M6 motorways.

Mature hedging

The land is in one, square shaped block and has approximately 900m of frontage onto the public road. It is of high quality and under permanent pasture with mature hedging and trees.

A securely gated entrance and a gravel roadway give access to the free-range egg production yard.

Three timber framed sheds accommodate 30,500 layers in total. House 1 has capacity for 8,000 birds while House 2 has capacity for 6,500 birds. Both are flat deck sheds. House 3 is a 16,000-bird multi-tier shed. It has a conveyor belt system to carry manure to the yard’s 550 cubic metre manure store.

The farm has a 68kw solar PV system to supply electricity to the houses. In addition, it has a three-phase electricity supply and a 120kva standby generator. There are two wells on the farm for water supply.
