A c145.5ac farm with a very large cattle yard is on the market near Tullamore, Co Offaly. The holding is at Kilooley Hall and is being sold by James L Murtagh.

It’s going for auction and the guide price is in the region of €1.85m.

This farm is in a good location, 15km out from Tullamore on the N52 main road in the direction of Kilcormac. There is good access in all directions.

The farm is in one square shaped block. It is laid out in four main fields and further subdivided into paddocks. The land is good quality and productive and the pasture is clean. There is a water supply out to the fields.

The big yard will attract lot of interest. It is sited in the very centre of the farm, 300m back from the main road and accessed by a long avenue. This avenue in turn provides good access to the fields on each side.

The sheds include a three-bay hayshed and lean-to; a four-bay lean-to shed on a raised concrete apron/platform; a six-bay slatted shed with centre passage with double slats on either side; and two large round-roofed, six-bay haysheds with concrete floors and walls.

These sheds can be used for feed or fodder storage, for silage or for bedded winter housing.

The c145.5ac is in one large block.

There is also an indoor cattle handling area, outdoor agitation points, gated and concrete cattle handling areas and a feed apron with canopy.

This farm would also make an ideal dairy enterprise due to the high-quality pasture, the auctioneers say.

The auction takes place at the Tullamore Court Hotel on Friday, 19 July at 3pm and also runs online on LSL.
