A 68ac stud with a residence and two independent yards is for sale with a guide price of €1.5m.

The property is Oaklawn Stud at Friarstown, close to the Curragh in Co Kildare, and it’s for sale by public auction later this month.

Agents Jordan Town & Country say the farm is well located, just 1.5km from the Curragh, 5km from Kildare town and close to the M7 motorway. A significant number of race winners have been trained here over the years.

Oaklawn Stud is approached through a recessed entrance with electric gates and a tarmac drive leading on to the house and yard. The house is 1,905 sq ft in area, has three bedrooms and is in need of modernisation.

The house has charactor but needs modernising.

The 68ac at Friarstown is good quality land.

The yard is behind the house and has 11 boxes, an office, tack room, feed house, toilet and lofted area. There is a six-unit walker, a three bay hayshed with lean-to and a lunging ring.

The second yard is a short distance along the road, with its own entrance, and is called Carhue Stud. It is used as an isolation yard. It has 12 boxes, a tack room and a feed house.

The 68ac is laid out in 23 divisions with internal roads to all paddocks.

The auction takes place on Friday, 25 October at 3pm in the Keadeen Hotel, Newbridge.
