There have been a number of notable land sales at auction. Raymond Potterton Auctioneers sold 26.6ac at Donaghmore, Navan, Co Meath at auction for €735,000, equal to approximately €27,630/ac. The holding has a fine steel shed in a concrete yard and sits just 4km from Navan town centre. It went well over the guide of €485,000.

A 33ac holding at Ballymurphy, Co Carlow has sold at auction in four lots for a total of €541,000 or approximately €16,400/ac. The holding is in the townlands of Mullannagaun and Ballyglisheen was also offered in the entire. This auction began with the four individual lots, which totalled €455,000 after the opening round of bidding. No bids were made on the entire so this option was withdrawn and further bids were invited on Lots 1 to 4.

The 44ac at Castlesheppard was mostly pasture with some woodland. It was sold by Thomas Potterton.

Lot 3 was 12.6ac. It was placed on the market reaching €175,000 in the second round of bidding. Following two further bids, it was sold at €185,000, equal to approximately €14,700/ac.

Lot 1 was 6.5ac. It stood at €120,000 after the first round of bidding and following a further bid of €125,000 was declared on the market. It was knocked down after one further bid, at €130,000 or approximately €19,900/ac.

Lot 2 (9.7ac) had reached €140,000 in the first round of bidding and was declared on the market when it reached €150,000 in the second round. There were three further bids before the hammer fell at €165,000 or €16,900/ac.

Lot 4 (4ac) was the final lot to be sold. It had reached €55,000 in the opening round of bidding. With the hammer about to fall at €60,000 a new bidder offered €61,000 and was successful. The price equalled approximately €15,200/ac.

The shed at Castlesheppard.

REA auctioneer Thomas Potterton sold a 44ac holding at Castlesheppard, Ballingary, Co Tipperary. The bidding opened at €400,000. Four bidders competed.

The land was knocked down to a bidder in the room for €580,000, equal to approximately €13,180/ac. The land was purchased on behalf of a farmer from outside the locality.

GVM Auctioneers Limerick sold a 40ac holding at Coonagh, Co Limerick for €260,000 or €6,500/ac.

Described by the agents as Corcas type land, suited for summer grazing and it had access via a shared passageway.

GVM Tullamore sold 19ac at Down, Daingean, Co Offaly. This was Lot 1 of two lots and it sold for €210,000.
