A large holding of designated land is on the market near Thurles, Co Tipperary. The 110ac property is at Cummermore, Kilcommon and is being sold by REA John Lee. This is a private treaty sale.
The location is 4km from Kilcommon, 4.5km from Hollyford and 25km from Thurles.
The 110ac is in one block, with the majority designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA), a designation under the European Union Directive on the Conservation of Wild Birds. SPAs are strictly protected sites classified to safeguard the habitats of migratory birds and certain particularly threatened birds.
The land is elevated and is bounded on one side by a forestry plantation. It has frontage on the public road. The guide price for this holding is €200,000 which equals €1,818/ac. However, offers in excess of this guide price have now been made for the holding, auctioneer James Lee says.
