Castlecomer-based auctioneer Joe Coogan has an 81.5ac farm at Russelstown, Attanagh, Co Kilkenny available for lease this year. The land is situated on the main road between Ballyragget and Ballinakill, and it’s almost equidistant from Ballyragget and Durrow.

A public auction for the seven-year lease of the land which is available in three lots will take place at 3pm on Friday, 17 January in the Auction Room Ballycomey House, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny.

Lot 1 consists of 48.8ac that is in one block and divided into four individual fields beside public road. Roughly 18ac of permanent pasture was reseeded in 2024 and the balance of the land is in tillage.

Comprising of 15.4ac, it is about 500m from Lot 1 and is divided into two individual fields which are in grass with laneway access to public road.

Circa 6.5ac (one field) were reseeded in 2024 and a further 8.9ac were reseeded in 2021.

The farm yard is close to this lot and is available at additional cost to whoever the future tenant is.

Included within that is a three-span freestanding lean-to with double slats, a silage pit, an 8-ton meal bin and a cattle crush.

Finally, Lot 3 contains 17.2ac that is in one block and it’s split into two individual roadside fields. Approximately 10ac were reseeded in 2024.

The balance of the land is in tillage.
