Jim McLaren MBE is to stand down as chair of Quality Meat Scotland when his second four- year term comes to a close later this year.

The Scottish Government will accept applications for a the post until 16 April. There is also a position for a new member on the QMS board.

The advert states the new chair is to be in position on the first of September and that it’s desirable for the applicant to be a levy payer.

The role is anticipated to take 104 days, with a wage of £340 per day.

Board members are expect to commit 20 days, being paid at a rate of £180 per day. The QMS board is made up of 12 members, who meet six times a year.
