The UK is reportedly considering proposing that Northern Ireland should have joint status in order to break the Brexit negotiations deadlock.

RTÉ News reports that the British government has considered a 16km-wide trade buffer zone along the border. This would be in effect for local traders, including dairy farmers, once the UK officially exits the EU. However, an anonymous British government official told RTÉ that this is one of several ideas being discussed.
