The ICBF has released the top 20 most popular AI bulls in dairy, suckler and dairy beef herds in 2017.

Longview Reliable (LWR) topped the dairy list with 27,144 calves bred last year.

In suckler farms, the most popular bull was Castleview Gazelle (ZAG), with 18,826 calves. The first six positions alternate between Limousin and Charolais sires, with an Angus coming seventh.

An Angus bull came first for dairy beef breeding, though. Cornamuckla Lord Hardy K222 (KYA) sired 10,227 calves last year.
