The Irish Farmers Journal’s Tullamore Farm has a student placement available for a student of agricultural science or a related course, with a mixed/sheep enterprise background.

The placement will take place on the farm’s 170-head ewe flock and work will include lambing, the end of the calving season, grassland management and stockmanship, among other things.

It will be a great opportunity to gain experience on a mixed livestock farm, while also reporting on the day-to-day activities on www.farmersjournal.ie and in the Irish Farmers Journal print publication.

The placement is to commence on 3 April 2018 and will last through to June. Hours are full time, Monday to Friday, with some weekend work available.

The suitable candidate should have a good work ethic and their own transport. The placement is paid.

Students interested in the placement should send a CV to tullamorefarm1@gmail.com by Monday, 19 March.
