The weekly cattle sale at Enniskillen Mart saw a super day’s trading, with top prices on offer for good-quality stock.
Just over 1,100 head were forwarded for sale, with increasing buyer demand for all classes of stock.
Bullocks
Bullocks sold to £1,495 for a 726kg Charolais, with the general price range for heavy, slaughter-fit lots from £1,405/head to £1,470/head.
Mid-weight stores were a flying trade, selling from 210p to 268p/kg, with a 430kg Charolais making £1,115, while a 552kg Charolais made £1,290.
Light-weight store bullocks made 220p to 282p/kg, with a couple of stand-out lots making £1,110 for a 398kg Salers and £1,045 for a 370kg Charolais.
Heifers
Fat heifers sold to £1,460 for a 670kg Charolais, with other heavy lots making £1,250 to £1,335.
Mid-weight stores sold from 200p to 261p/kg, with a 435kg Blue selling for £1,135. Lighter types sold for 201 to 264p/kg, with a 350kg animal making £920.
Weanlings
A packed sale ring led to an excellent trade for weanlings. Male weanlings sold from £700 up to £1,100 for a 452kg Charolais.
Weanling heifers sold from £520 to £975 for a 445kg Charolais animal.
Drop calves sold to £500 for a two-month-old Charolais, with Belgian Blue and Limousin bulls making £380. Angus calves made £310, with Shorthorns making £285. Friesian calves made £135.
Cows
Suckler cows sold to £1,700 for a Charolais, with a bull calf at foot. Hereford cows with calves sold to £1,400, while springing heifers sold for up to £1,450.
Cull cows sold to £1,600 for an 880kg Charolais. Fleshed cows sold to 199p/kg, with feeding cows selling from 198p to 210p/kg. Friesian cows sold from 56p to 90p/kg.
