Supermac’s has committed to using only Irish beef and chicken.

The Irish-owned fast-food company will spend over €32m on Irish produce including beef, chicken and vegetables, in 2018.

With over 100 restaurants and 2,700 staff, Supermac’s chief executive Pat McDonagh committed to using Irish produce whenever possible in a recent meeting with IFA president Joe Healy.

McDonagh explained that the company’s commitment to supporting Irish business extends back to its origins.

“Since we started in Ballinasloe in 1978 we have always looked to local suppliers wherever possible, be that for farm produce or construction materials,” he said.

This, allied to its commitment to fresh produce, makes all Irish meat an obvious choice, McDonagh explained.

Irish farms

“When a customer comes to the Supermac’s counter they know that the grilled chicken sandwich they order is fresh and never frozen, 100% Irish chicken that comes from Irish farmers.

“Our 5oz burgers are made from prime cuts of beef and are cooked to order.”
