Irish Guide Dogs for The Blind is looking for volunteers to support its national campaign Guide Dog Day, taking place on 1 May. Volunteers are needed for street and Tesco collections all over Ireland, selling Guide Dog Day badges, tattoos and stickers. To help out, even for as little as two hours, email fundraising@guidedogs.ie, call 1850-506-300 or visit www.guidedogs.ie. The national charity is 80% funded by voluntary income and donations. It costs €38,000 to train one pup to become a working guide or assistance dog. All of Irish Guide Dogs’ services are provided to people who are vision impaired and children with autism free of charge. Irish Guide Dogs works with people all over Ireland.
