Audits scheduled before Monday 24 January will remain as remote audits while Bord Bia expect their new blended audit process to be ready in the coming weeks.
Bord Bia says the return to remote auditing is temporary, with a blended audit system currently being worked on to allow an on-farm audit to take place safely in the future.
ICSA suckler chair Ger O’Brien has slammed the decision to make membership of Bord Bia’s Sustainable Beef and Lamb Assurance Scheme (SBLAS) mandatory for the new suckler scheme.
The Northern Ireland beef and lamb farm quality assurance scheme is also funded by a processor fee it has been increased by 20% under the latest review.
