The Irish Farmers Journal is partnering with Teagasc for its Virtual Beef Week 2020, taking place from Monday 6 July to Friday 10 July.

Teagasc had originally planned to hold a major beef open day in Grange on Tuesday 7 July but had to cancel due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The new week-long virtual event will have interviews broadcast daily on farmersjournal.ie, including videos and podcasts with beef researchers and specialists at Grange.

Topics that will be covered include suckler beef, dairy calf to beef, sustainability, grass, economics and more.

Teagasc head of animal and grassland research and innovation Pat Dillon said: “We are delighted to be able to partner with the Irish Farmers Journal to get important messages across to beef farmers in challenging times.

“There’s a huge amount of planning going into the week and hopefully farmers will log on and engage with the discussions.”
