It is hard to believe that this time last year Ireland was wrapped in the icy embrace of the ever memorable 'Beast from the East'.
Irish Farmers Journal photographer Donal O'Leary went back to a field, pictured above, where heifers were being out-wintered this time last year. Here's what it looks like now:
Record levels of snowfall wreaked havoc on farms, pulling down sheds and freezing water troughs. Farmers cleared rural roads and battled through the elements to keep stock fed and watered during the busy spring period.
It's amazing the difference a year makes, with cows out day and night in the parts of the country worst hit this time 365 days ago.
Farmers have taken to social media, reflecting on the radical change in season. You can send your photos to news@farmersjournal.ie or tweet @farmersjournal.
