Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind and rain warning for the south of the country, with average wind speeds of up to 65km/h and rainfall of between 20mm and 50mm.

Persistant rain is likely to continue in the south of the country on Thursday morning, however it will be coldest in the north and east of the country.

Top temperatures of between 4°c and 9°c.
