Weather forecast

A yellow rainfall warning is in place for southern coastal counties after a dry, frosty start to Tuesday.

Met Éireann forecasts that rain will reach the southwest coast by lunchtime and extend gradually northwards.

It will become heavy in the south and southeast in the evening, with a risk of spot flooding.

Top temperatures will range between 3°C and 6°C generally, but a few degrees higher along the south coast.

Light variable breezes will become moderate southeasterly.
