Valtra has just launched its all-new G Series, the very first of the fifth generation Valtra tractors. This new model series will fit between the popular A and N series and consists of five models, ranging from 105hp up to 135hp (110hp to 145hp with boost).

The G Series is the first tractor in the 100–145hp Valtra range to offer SmartTouch controls, as well as full precision farming capabilities. Valtra Connect telemetry is standard on Versu models of the G Series, while load-sensing hydraulics are standard on Active and Versu models. The new G Series is available in four equipment levels: Basic, Comfort, Technology and Technology Pro.

Production of the new G Series has already kicked off and it is understand that 10 units have been built to-date. Valtra have confirmed to the Irish Farmers Journal that deliveries of the new G Series to Ireland will start later this year.

Engine

The new G Series is powered by four-cylinder, 4.4l AGCO Power engines. Valtra say that the compact size of the engine enables the low nose, which offers very good visibility. The engine complies with the Stage V emission regulations without an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation).

Valtra have said that all models offer power boost at field speeds when driving in B5 or higher gears. Valtra’s traditional Sigma Power boost is also available for the PTO.

Transmission

The G Series is equipped with a 24+24R transmission with four ranges and six power-shift gears. The shifts from B to C range and between C and D ranges are automated. In traditional Valtra fashion, the parking brake is integrated with the forward-reverse shuttle lever. Meanwhile, the slowest working speed with the creeper gear is 120 miles/hr.

HiTech models have an open hydraulics system that produces 100l/min, while Active and Versu models have load-sensing hydraulics that produce 110l/min. Up to four hydraulic blocks are available at both the front and rear. Versu models are available with up to five rear spool valves and up to four valves in the front.

Cab

Valtra says that the G Series cab features 5.7 square metres of glass, including 0.35 square metres in the panoramic roof. Some spec includes cab suspension, heated mirrors, air conditioning, a lower cab heater and USB charging plugs.

Versu models with the SmartTouch interface can access the same SmartFarming features as the bigger N and T Series models. Active models are also available with auto-guidance and precision farming features that can be activated via the SmartTouch Extend terminal.

Like all Valtra’s gone before, the G Series is also suitable for forestry tasks. For forestry work, the G Series can be specified with narrow mudguards, a steel fuel tank, polycarbonate glass, forest tyres, a rotating seat and cab protection. The auxiliary light pack provides four working lights at the front and six at the rear, which also turn on automatically when reversing, facilitating work in dark conditions.
