The concept of measuring and comparing grass and clover varieties originates from the same concept that was developed in 2001, whereby sires would be ranked using one number (EBI in euro). It is great to see clover varieties now going through the same process to determine what clovers work best on Irish farms with grass. The sooner this work is published the better. See more on p48.
GAEC2 appeals
The Department published details around the appeals process for the recategorisation of GAEC 2 peatlands this week (see p63) and it raised some strange questions.

Asking farmers to determine and declare to the Department if land was never drained before is probably one of the more strange asks of the Department.
