Preparations are in full flow for Dairy Day 2025, taking place this Saturday at the UL Sports Arena at the University of Limerick.
The Irish Farmers Journal event is an opportunity for the entire dairy industry to come together.
While 2025 will go down as a very good year for most from a weather and profitability perspective, clouds are gathering overhead with severe milk price cuts and the threat over the nitrates derogation not being renewed a big worry for dairy farmers.

The ultimate outcome on the derogation won’t be known by Saturday, but analysis on milk price, dairy markets and ways to reduce costs of production are central themes for Dairy Day 2025.
A full overview of the programme is carried on pages 32 and 33. There are over 75 trade stands exhibiting at Dairy Day 2025, so there will be something for everyone.
